Stella Merendino
From the emergency dept. straight into parlament!
My name is Stella Merendino and I am now the Member of Parliament for the Berlin-Mitte constituency. I am a healthcare and nursing assistant in an emergency room and therefore know the challenges that many of us face every day: stress at work, too little time for family and unaffordable rents. As a trade unionist, I know how to fight and win. Thanks to you, I am now taking this knowledge with me to the Bundestag and making a promise:

My plan for genuine social security
- Hospitals are there to make us healthy: Enough with overwork and underfunding in the healthcare sector. I fight for better healthcare, more staff and fair wages. Because our hospitals should care for people and not the profits for shareholders.
- Affordable rents for all: Every person deserves a nice home for themselves and their family. I am committed to ensuring that no one loses their home due to unaffordable rents. Rent prices must come down. Excessive rents must be reduced. Rent cap now!
- Affordable food for everyone: We notice it every day in our wallets. The prices for pasta, fruit, bread and butter have exploded. That’s why I’m committed to abolishing the value-added tax on food. So that we have more to live on – for vacations, gifts for children and fun.
